Everything Kommio does, in one place.
Every feature is included, and Kommio Cloud is free. Start with the three main areas, or read on for the API, security, branding, deployment and the full list.
Every channel in one shared inbox.
Email, website chat, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram, SMS, Slack and API inboxes land in one list your team works from, on the desktop or the phone. Every conversation has one owner and one history, so nobody asks a customer to repeat themselves.
Learn more: Inbox & channelsRules and bots do the routine. People do the talking.
Rules react to events or to time passing, chatbot flows answer first, and AI helps agents write. When a conversation needs a person, the hand-off is always there.
Learn more: Automation & AINumbers you can trust, one click from the conversations behind them.
Volume, first response, resolution and satisfaction, each as a median and a p90, so one slow afternoon cannot hide behind an average.

An API you can build a product on. An app surface you can extend it with.
Every screen in Kommio runs on the same public API you get. The OpenAPI contract is versioned, the TypeScript client is generated from it, and writes are idempotent, so what you can click, you can automate.
1// Typed client generated from the OpenAPI contract 2import { createKommioClient } from "@kommio/api-client"; 3 4const api = createKommioClient({ baseUrl: "https://app.kommio.io/api", apiKey }); 5 6// Writes carry an Idempotency-Key automatically 7await api.POST("/conversations/{id}/messages", { 8 params: { path: { id: 4821 } }, 9 body: { content: "Your refund is on its way.", kind: "reply" }, 10}); 11 12// Lists are cursor paginated 13for await (const event of paginate((c) => api.GET("/audit", { params: { query: { cursor: c } } }))) 14 console.log(event.action, event.actor_id);
REST API with OpenAPI 3.1
Scoped API keys, cursor pagination, idempotency keys, rate limits, a committed contract that fails CI the moment it drifts, and a Reports API that serves report numbers as JSON, CSV or Excel to your BI tool.
Webhooks with a delivery ledger
Signed payloads with the visitor's context, retries on a fixed schedule, and replay for one delivery or every failed one. You never wonder whether it arrived.
Apps and panels
Apps installed from a manifest with scopes an administrator approves, hooks that can check or rewrite a reply, and panels right beside the conversation. Settings › Marketplace is the one place a workspace adds extensions.
Agent bots and events
Hand an inbox to your bot until it hands off, feed messages in through an API inbox, and build on the same event stream Kommio uses internally.
Who sees what is a setting. Who did what is a record.
Roles decide which screens a person can open, which conversations they can see, and which fields are shown, masked or hidden. The audit trail keeps the answer to “who changed this?” for as long as you want it.
Roles with field-level masking
Administrator, Supervisor, Agent, Restricted agent and Viewer out of the box. Custom roles decide, per field, whether an email, phone, payment detail or IP address is visible, masked or hidden. Nobody can grant more than they hold themselves. Tag custom attributes that hold ID or payment details and they follow the same rules, and mark the files that hold them too: shown, masked or hidden by role, kept out of AI and exports, and deleted after the retention you set. The Access page shows who sees what.
Sign-in your IT team will approve
Two-factor with a QR code and one-time recovery codes, a list of your signed-in browsers to sign out one by one, single sign-on per workspace over OpenID Connect limited to your email domains, and Argon2id passwords. Administrators can require two-factor for every member.
Audit trail
Every change records who, what, before and after. Revealing a masked value is its own audited action with an optional reason, and every change a customer's site makes to a contact is listed on that contact. Removing a person or revoking a key shows what it affects first and asks you to type the name, and the Security policy page lists who revealed what in the last 30 days.
Tenant isolation in the database
Every workspace is separated by row-level security enforced in Postgres itself, not only in application code. A suspended workspace stops every key, token, session and chat at once.
Encryption and secrets
Channel credentials, SSO secrets, AI keys and tokens are encrypted at rest with envelope encryption and never shown again. TLS everywhere in transit.
Hardened by default
Strict Content Security Policy in the agent app, SSRF-safe outbound requests, rate limits per key and per workspace, sites allowed to embed your chat enforced by the browser, and every release scanned before it ships.

Roles: visibility, permissions and a rule for every sensitive field.

Account security: two-factor setup and every signed-in browser.
Your brand on the chat widget and the agent app.
Pick a brand colour, add your logos and choose a font and corner style. Kommio derives the rest, checks contrast in light and dark before you save, and shows a live preview of the widget and the agent app.
- Brand and secondary colours with a contrast check for header, buttons, links and dark mode
- Light and dark logos, plus a square mark for the launcher and the app rail
- Poppins or your visitors' system font, and sharp, soft or round corners
- Preview as a visitor, and edit the full token file when you need every detail

Free in the cloud. One binary and one database if you host it yourself.
Kommio Cloud is free: every feature, every channel, no seat pricing and no plan tiers. The self-hosted edition is the same product, a single Go service with Postgres, for teams that must keep data on their own infrastructure.
Kommio Cloud Free
We run it, you use it. Releases deploy without downtime: the new version starts beside the old one and takes over once it is ready. Free for every team, with fair-use limits published on this site.
Self-hosted on a VM
A container image, a compose file and releases cut on demand: any release upgrades directly to any later one, rehearsed in our CI from the previous releases first. One process runs the API, the workers and the scheduler, a preflight command checks the installation before every upgrade, built-in backups write an encrypted database dump and your files to a disk or a bucket on a schedule, and file storage can live on a mounted share.
Kubernetes
API, worker and scheduler roles scale independently, and live updates reach every replica. Health endpoints, graceful shutdown with a drain, and an upgrade rehearsal in CI on every change.
The agent app, the chat widget and the satisfaction survey ship in sixteen languages, and each person picks the language they work in.

Can I extend it?
Yes. A REST API with a versioned OpenAPI contract and a TypeScript client, signed webhooks, agent bots, apps installed from a manifest with hooks and panels beside every conversation, and API inboxes for your own sources, with runnable examples to start from.
